ENT école primaire prix: what schools pay, and who pays

ENT école primaire prix: what schools pay, and who pays

An ENT école (espace numérique de travail) costs a French primary school anywhere from nothing to a few hundred euros a year. The published list prices start with a free ONE tier, then 2 to 3 EUR HT per pupil on ONE’s paid plans, 79 to 179 EUR TTC per class or 299 to 599 EUR TTC per school at Beneylu, and a 41 EUR municipal contribution in Occitanie. What you actually pay depends on school size, the billing unit and who signs the contract, so a two-class village school and a ten-class school can pay the same vendor very different totals.

ONE prices are HT (before VAT) and Beneylu prices are TTC (VAT included), so compare them only after converting to the same basis; the figures below keep each vendor’s own basis.

For Skolengo, we could not confirm a public price, so we do not quote one. Ask the vendor or your academic region for a written figure.

What the numbers mean for a real school

ENT école gratuit: what ONE Discovery includes

ONE Discovery is listed at 0 EUR, with storage capped at 500 MB per user. The paid ONE tiers add more storage (1 GB per user on Start, unlimited on Premium), an admin console from Start, and video capture and statistics on Premium. If the free tier’s limits suit your school, the ENT line in your budget can be zero.

A per-pupil price scales with your roll

ONE Start at 2 EUR HT per pupil per year gives 200 EUR HT for a 100-pupil school, and ONE Premium at 3 EUR HT gives 300 EUR HT. The three-year options (5 EUR HT or 7.5 EUR HT per pupil) work out to roughly 1.67 and 2.50 EUR HT per pupil per year, so they are cheaper if you are sure you will stay.

Beneylu School prix: a flat price rewards larger schools

Beneylu states “un prix unique, quel que soit le nombre de classes, de professeurs et d’élèves” for the school licence. On the Basic plan, the per-school price of 299 EUR TTC equals about 3.8 classes at 79 EUR TTC, so a school with four or more classes pays less on the school licence, and a school with three or fewer pays less buying per class. On Infini (599 EUR against 179 EUR per class), the break-even sits near 3.3 classes. For a deeper look at the product itself, see our Beneylu School application alternatives guide.

Worked example: a 5-class, 120-pupil school

A regional ENT can move the bill to the mairie

In Occitanie, the regional ENT-École is funded through a partnership between the academic region and municipalities. The municipality signs a formal agreement, files one application, renews annually and consults the school’s teaching team before enrolment. The published contribution for 2026-27 is 41 EUR per school, and the enrolment campaign runs from 18 May to 16 October 2026. This applies to Occitanie only; other regions may run their own arrangements.

For a director, that changes the question from “what do we pay?” to “what has the mairie already decided?” Ask the municipal office before you open a vendor trial.

Free, cheap or covered: how to choose between ENT options

If your mairie already funds a regional ENT, the answer is usually to use it. If it does not, the choice comes down to three questions.

  1. Who needs the ENT? Teachers who want pupil workspaces and classroom resources are asking for something a messaging tool does not provide.
  2. Who signs and pays? Each payer has a different approval path:
    • The mairie: in a regional scheme such as Occitanie’s, the municipality signs the agreement and pays the contribution, so the decision sits with the municipal office.
    • An association (OGEC, APEL): the association’s own budget and governance apply, so the request goes to its board.
    • The school’s own budget: the director carries the line, so the billing unit matters most here.
  3. What is the billing unit? Per pupil, per class or per school gives very different totals depending on whether you are a two-class village school or a ten-class school, as the worked example shows.

In practice, this looks like a one-page comparison for your next conseil d’école: write your pupil and class counts at the top, compute each option’s yearly total from the table above, and add a column for “who pays”.

What an ENT bundles that a messaging app does not

An ENT bundles things a parent-communication app does not: Beneylu’s plans list pupil applications and, on Infini, a library of digital resources; ONE’s tiers differ by storage, video capture and statistics. Those are classroom and pedagogy tools. This comparison also uses published list prices, not what schools pay after negotiation or regional funding. If teachers want pupil workspaces, you need an ENT; if what you need is reaching families, read on.

When a parent-communication app covers the need without an ENT contract

Many directors who ask which ENT to pick are really asking how to reach families reliably: announcements, a way to reply, documents to sign and a fallback when a parent does not see a notification. That need can be met by a parent-communication app, which is a different product category from an ENT. Whatever tool you price, check that it covers:

BeeNet covers all three, with message translation into the reader’s language, SMS campaigns on prepaid credits with a per-campaign cascade, and documents with acknowledgement and e-signature.

What BeeNet does not do

BeeNet is not an ENT and does not claim to be ministry-conformant. It does not offer pupil workspaces or a classroom resource library. It has no connector to Pronote or to your ENT, so information entered in one system will not appear in the other, and families would use a separate login. If your school already runs Pronote, our Pronote alternative comparison explains where the lines fall, and our parent communication software cost guide compares prices across tools; BeeNet’s own plans are on the pricing page.

Decision rule and next step

If your region funds an ENT and teachers want pupil workspaces, take the regional ENT. If you only need messaging, reminders, SMS fallback and documents, price a communication app against the ENT totals you calculated above rather than assuming you need both. Before your next conseil d’école, produce the one-page comparison, and ask your mairie in the same week which regional ENT, if any, it already funds. Decide before the Occitanie enrolment campaign closes on 16 October if you are in that region; elsewhere, put the ENT line on the agenda of the next conseil d’école.

The operational requirement is simple: every family receives school messages, replies to them, and signs documents, whichever tool carries them. BeeNet is one implementation path for that requirement, alongside the options above, not a replacement for an ENT. If you run a private school in France, BeeNet’s founding-schools offer is one option to evaluate: 10 places, BeeNet free until 31 August 2027, then a founding price locked for 3 years.
