Parent Communication Software Cost in 2026: Real Prices

One district asked how much Remind costs and got quoted anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 a year for its paid Remind Hub tier — a real spread, and a real shift from a product many administrators still associate with “free,” according to secondary reporting; Remind itself publishes no price list for Hub. It’s not the only platform that works this way. ParentSquare lists three tiers and zero prices — everything sits behind “Contact sales.” Google Workspace for Education and Seesaw both tightened or raised what used to be free in 2025 and 2026. If you’re budgeting for a school communication platform this year — in France, Belgium, Morocco, Tunisia, the UAE, or anywhere else — treat the marketing-page number as a starting bid, not a forecast.

Methodology: figures below are drawn from each vendor’s own pricing page where published; third-party-reported figures are labeled as such and are not vendor-confirmed.

Parent Communication Software Cost in 2026: The Vendors Compared

Here’s what’s actually published, versus what’s gated behind a sales call, as of this year’s review of each vendor’s own pages.

Beneylu, Google Workspace, and Seesaw all publish real numbers on their own pricing pages. ParentSquare and Remind Hub are the two in this table that still ask you to negotiate first and read the invoice second.

How Much Does Remind Cost? Free App, Custom Remind Hub Pricing

The classroom-level Remind app — the free tool most teachers know — is still free-forever for basic teacher-to-family messaging. The product schools are now asking about when they search “how much does Remind cost” or “Remind Hub pricing” is a different thing: Remind Hub, the paid district-facing tier, has no published price list. Instead, according to reported quotes cited by Minga, schools and districts have received custom quotes ranging from $4,000 to $15,000 per year. That figure comes from 2024 secondary reporting, not from Remind’s own price sheet — its official pricing page returned an access error to direct review.

Is ParentSquare (Parent Square) Free? What “Contact Sales” Really Means

No tier of ParentSquare is free, and none of its three tiers — Engage, Engage Premium, Engage 360 — carries a published price. The vendor’s own pricing page describes feature differences between tiers and stops there; per-student fees, per-district fees, onboarding costs, and add-on pricing are all handled through “Contact sales.” Third-party listing sites have reported packages starting around $3,000/year for up to 600 students plus a separate onboarding fee that scales with enrollment — but that figure is not confirmed anywhere on ParentSquare’s own page.

ClassDojo Pricing: No Independently Verified Number, and Why That Matters

If you’re comparing ClassDojo pricing or trying to pin down class dojo cost for schools, the direct answer is that this article doesn’t have a verified number for you: ClassDojo’s own pricing fell outside the sourced pages reviewed here, and per the methodology above, this piece doesn’t print figures it can’t stand behind. What the gap itself tells you: request a written, enrollment-specific quote before ranking ClassDojo against the confirmed numbers above, and ask explicitly whether the price you’re quoted matches what other schools your size have paid — the same “Contact sales” pattern that hides ParentSquare’s and Remind Hub’s real numbers can apply here too.

Free Tiers Are Shrinking: Google Workspace and Seesaw’s 2025–2026 Rate Increases

Two platforms many schools treat as “the free option” changed that status recently. Google Workspace for Education restructured its licensing in 2025: Education Plus rose from $5 to $6 per user per year, the Teaching and Learning Add-on rose from $48 to $60 per user per year, and the previously free staff license bundled with paid student licenses (one free per four paid) was discontinued outright. A transition discount runs through February 1, 2027, but after that, staff seats that used to ride along for free are a line item.

Seesaw is tightening from the other direction. Effective June 30, 2026, its free Starter tier caps out at one active class per teacher, up to 35 students per class, 35 activities in “My Library,” and 5 multimedia items per post — content created before the cutover is grandfathered, but growth beyond those caps now requires Seesaw for Schools, which starts at $2,500/year and is sold schoolwide only, with no per-teacher option. A school that outgrows the free caps mid-year doesn’t get a small upgrade — it jumps straight to a $2,500 floor.

Against that backdrop, Beneylu School is the outlier worth naming: its French pricing page lists flat annual numbers with no sales call required — 79 € for a single class or 299 € for a whole school on Standard, 179 € or 599 € on the Infini/Premium tier, which adds 3,000 digital resources. It’s a smaller platform than the US majors, but its published flat fee puts it alongside Google Workspace and Seesaw as vendors you can budget from without a phone call — ParentSquare and Remind Hub are the two holdouts still gated behind “Contact sales.”

The License Fee Is Not the Only Cost

None of the numbers above are the whole bill. CoSN’s total-cost-of-ownership framework names five cost categories that sit outside any vendor’s subscription price: hardware and software, infrastructure, support and maintenance, training, and indirect staff labor — the framework exists specifically to “avoid hidden costs” and “capture indirect labor” that a per-user license fee never shows. On top of that, schools messaging parents through WhatsApp Business now pay per message rather than per conversation as of July 1, 2025, with marketing-template messages always charged. And in France, the CNIL and the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale have reaffirmed data-minimization obligations specific to school communication apps — a school tool doesn’t need a parent’s profession or family quotient to function, and data minimization is a security and access-control practice as much as a legal one. Schools operating under GDPR-equivalent rules that want to confirm a vendor meets that standard would need to budget the staff time for their own compliance review, since it won’t show up as a line item on any vendor’s invoice.

Budgeting for Parent Communication Software: A Verdict

If cost predictability matters more than feature breadth, flat-fee vendors like Beneylu are the safer starting point precisely because the number is on the page. If you already have Google accounts for staff and students, expect the 2025 restructuring to raise your renewal even if you change nothing — model $6/user/year for Plus and $60/user/year for the add-on, and stop assuming staff seats are free. If you’re near Seesaw’s new Starter caps, decide before June 30, 2026 whether you’re staying free-tier-sized or paying the $2,500 schoolwide floor — there’s no smaller upgrade path. And if a vendor’s pricing page says “Contact sales” — ParentSquare, Remind Hub — get the quote in writing and add it to a real total-cost worksheet rather than a single tier number.

In practice, that worksheet looks like five lines, not one: the quoted or published subscription price; per-message costs modeled against your actual parent-messaging volume if you use WhatsApp or SMS; any one-time onboarding fee (ParentSquare’s reported estimate above scales with enrollment); an internal IT/support estimate per CoSN’s indirect-labor category; and, for GDPR-bound schools, a line for whatever a data-minimization compliance review costs you in staff time. A platform that looks $500 cheaper on the marketing page can lose that margin entirely in messaging fees or onboarding costs that never made it onto the tier chart.

Comparing named tools on a worksheet like that — rather than a single advertised number — is the only way “parent communication software cost” resolves into a figure you can actually budget against. Platforms built with predictable per-organization pricing and messaging included in the base license, rather than metered separately, remove two of those five worksheet lines outright: no separate per-message SMS/WhatsApp metering line, and no separate onboarding-fee line. BeeNet is one implementation path built that way — its published tiers start at €49/month (billed annually) for up to 200 members, with messaging and notifications included in the base plan rather than billed per message — worth a look alongside the named alternatives above when you’re building your own comparison for schools. If a walkthrough would help you check it against your own numbers, BeeNet’s demo covers exactly that.
