A printable weekly preschool lesson plan template for daycare and preschool classrooms — plan each day’s circle time, activities, and materials in one form.

For the infant room specifically, our infant lesson plan template tracks each baby’s individual feeding and sleep routine alongside the week’s shared activities.

How to use this template

  • Fill in one copy per classroom or group, per week — keep a copy on file so it’s ready to show a director, a new assistant, or a licensing inspector.
  • Set the Weekly Theme first; it gives the week a thread (a book, a season, an idea children are curious about) that the daily activities can hang off. If your classroom instead organizes around interest areas and an ongoing study rather than a single weekly theme — a Creative-Curriculum-style approach — the Creative Curriculum lesson plan template mirrors that structure instead of this one.
  • Plan one main activity and one outdoor / active-play block per day. The Developmental Domain field is just a short label to help you balance the week across language, movement, social, thinking, and creative play — it does not need to follow any particular country’s framework.
  • List materials for each day at least one day ahead, so nothing is missing when the activity starts.
  • The “Additional Notes” and “For Program Use Only” sections are optional — leave them out if they don’t apply to your setting.
  • After the week runs, fill in the reflection line so next week’s plan can build on what worked.
