Canteen: Built and Tested, the Screens Are Next
Weekly menus, prepaid per-child wallets, dietary profiles, and meal ordering are already built and tested. There is no admin screen to publish a menu yet, and no app screen for a parent to order a meal yet — that's the next step.
What's Already Built
This isn't a mockup or a wishlist. Every item below is built, working, and tested — the foundation the admin and mobile screens will sit on top of.
Weekly Menus
A canteen can plan meals day by day for the week ahead — the same planning model an admin screen will eventually manage.
Prepaid Per-Child Wallets
Every child gets their own prepaid balance. Every top-up and every meal charge is recorded, so the balance is always accountable and easy to reconcile.
Dietary Profiles
Allergies and dietary restrictions are recorded per child, ready to be checked automatically wherever a meal gets ordered.
Meal Ordering
Placing an order against a child's wallet and tracking it already works end to end — the same logic a parent will eventually tap through in the app.
Tested, Not Just Written
The rules governing ordering windows, wallet balances, and dietary conflicts are already tested end to end, before a single screen exists to use them.
What's Coming to the Interface
Admin Menu Builder
A screen for building and publishing the weekly menu is planned for the admin portal — the planning logic behind it already works.
Wallet Oversight for Admins
A screen for administrators to view balances, top up, and review each child's transaction history is planned, built on wallet data that already exists and is already tracked accurately.
Parent Ordering in the Mobile App
Parents will be able to set dietary restrictions and order meals for their child from the mobile app once that screen is built — the ordering logic behind it already works.

Menus, wallets, dietary profiles, and ordering all work today — the missing piece is the screens to use them.
Top-ups and meal charges are both recorded, so a family's balance is always traceable and easy to reconcile.
Ordering windows, wallet balances, and dietary rules are already covered by real tests — the same standard as BeeNet's shipped modules.
Common Questions
Can I use this today?
Not yet. Weekly menus, prepaid per-child wallets, dietary profiles, and meal ordering all work and are tested behind the scenes, but there is no admin screen to manage a menu and no app screen for a parent to order a meal yet. Nothing here can be clicked through today.
If it's not usable yet, what's actually ready?
The full canteen engine — weekly menu planning, per-child prepaid wallets with a recorded transaction history, dietary-profile tracking, and meal ordering — already works and is tested. What's missing is the screens: nothing to click yet, but nothing left to invent either.
When will the admin and mobile screens ship?
We don't have a public date yet. The hardest part of building a module — getting the logic right and tested — is done. The interface is planned next. Ask your BeeNet contact or request a demo for the current roadmap.
Does this replace our current canteen or lunch-ordering system?
Not yet — with no admin or app screens, the canteen module can't replace anything today. Once the screens ship, it will let you manage weekly menus, prepaid wallets, and dietary profiles from the same place your families already use for messaging and attendance.
